PLAYDOUGH FUN

Today Terina had her friend/cousin Ashton over to play.  We played with some playdough for quite some time.  Her are some goofy photos of them both with 'Playdough Lips'.

TERINA TURNS 7!

On the last Saturday of the holidays (14th July) it was Terina’s 7th birthday!  Because we are going to Fiji in a few weeks and because I don’t think kids should have parties every year and because Niwa has never had his own party and I think this year it is his turn,  I told Terina that this year she could have one friend over and keep it simple.  Well as you can see it didn’t end up  that simple.  It dragged out through the whole day but it was kinda cute (in parts LOL).

It started with a beautiful sunrise then pressies etc.   Then Poppa came over to bring her some pressies too.  See the photos of her getting her bike.  Then Jessie came over and the two of them decorated a cake I had made for Terina.  They turned it into a flower which didn’t look too bad for a cake that was never going to be.  We then went up to the mall and got nails done and they both chose their favourite meal for lunch.  When we got back home,  we got ready to have the dinner Terina had ordered (popcorn chicken and chips) and we cut the cake.  Then Jessie stayed the night which was lots of fun for them both.   See the photos below for her fun filled day!

2ND WEEK OF THE HOLIDAYS

Monday of the Second week rolled on and it was a 'Picture Perfect' day!  And nearly the whole of that week was.  We didn't do much in the way of spending money but we were at the park nearly every day and we also had cousins come and stay for sleep overs.  Here are some photos that I pinched off Renee's blog of our day at Onepoto Domain.  We had a lovely picnic and the kids rode their bikes around the track nearly all day,  none of them wanted to leave.  The most special thing was that MacKay learnt to ride his two wheeler bike on that very day,  it was so so cool for him.  So him and Niwa spent the rest of the day riding around and around!   We met up again that week for several Mac and Niwa bike riding trips.  They are both big boys now!

See below,  Big boy Mac on his' two wheeler' , 9th of July,  a day in History!

Our little picnic,  Agnus Roding and family, Aunty Nix and kids and Renee and Kids.  Aunty Nix lemon muffins and her dip that day were so YUM!  I got those two recipes thanks very much!

On another cool note, Niwa lost his little police balance bike so we were looking all around for it for ages and we were almost convinced it was gone for good when we decided to stop & say a prayer. Nix, Niwa, Emil & Renee stood around in a little huddle while I said a prayer that we'd be able to find it & as we finished & opened our eyes, there was Arama walking towards us having just found it!!! It was probably the most instantaneous answer to a prayer that I've ever witnessed. It was awesome :)

SPENCE AND NIWA BELOW JUST AFTER THE PRAYER EXPERIENCE!

THE BIKE BELOW JUST BEEN RETURNED!

I hope Renee doesn't mind but I stole her video of Mac riding his bike with only two wheels  for the first time,  I just think it is so cute.

NOTHING LIKE HOLIDAY SLEEP OVERS

TERINA THE ARTIST!

Last year Terina's teacher put all her art into a big envelope at the end of the year and gave it to her to bring home.  For someone who has a passion and love for art (especially kids art), this was the coolest Christmas pressie eva.  I displayed them on our pinboard in our 'home school' kitchen.  But now 7 months later I am wanting to turn our kitchen back into a kitchen and not a classroom,  So I have taken them down and stored them but wanted to keep a journal of some of my favourites and thought what better way than on my blog.
So here are some of my favourites.  I hope you enjoy.
What a cool teacher she had!  I think it takes a pretty skilled teacher to bring art out like this in kids!  I feel so blessed that Terina had such a cool start to school
with such an amazing lady!
