NIX 33RD BIRTHDAY DINNER

Yesterday was Nix Birthday she turned 33.  She just wanted to have 3 of her special friends for dinner.  Renee, Tui and I.  We went out to one of our favourite Indian restaurants and had a good catch up.  She will probably remember it as one of her worst birthdays,  Nikau was sick and she went in an Ambulance yesterday  with him to the hospital and stayed there with him most of the day.  She was determined to still have her birthday dinner girls night out!  She made it home about an hour before our dinner date.  As usual it was great to get together with this awesome combo of old friends.  We were all friends from back in the day when we had no husbands or kids.
Now we have 11 kids between us and are very busy Mammas.  LOL!

I made her a birthday cake and when the cake came out,  they stopped the restaurant music and played happy birthday on the sound system.  It was so unexpected but such fun.  The whole restaurant was singing with us.  See the table behind us below they were all cheering along!  Above, her pointing to the sound system when the song started to play.

Happy Birthday Nix,  We Love you heaps XXX

SCHOOL PRODUCTION - Jack and the Beanstalk

Tonight was Terina’s  Junior school production.  The production was Jack and the Beanstalk.  She was the Bakers wife,  see photos.  So so much work has gone into this production and they are all pretty exhausted now from all the effort they have put into it.  The costumes, the dedication of the teachers, staff, parents and kids has been huge!  Keith was asked to do the art back drops etc for this production.  As you look at the photos he designed  the beanstalk, backdrop, the Trees, Fee Fi Fo Fum sign as well as the Castle sign and the inside of the house (he had a little help from a few others also).

All in all it was a wonderful effort by all and I am so grateful to send my daughter to such a lovely school  with such dedicated and passionate  staff who love and care for the kids.  It is so nice to feel that way about the place you send your kids each day.

Tonight  (Tuesday evening)  we went  and so did my mum and dad (nanny Trish and Poppa),  Aunty Nix,  Carl and Ash as well as Aunty Helen,  Jarom and Arama.
Thursday night more family and friends will be coming.  A lovely experience for all.
An amazing effort for 5 and 6 year old kids,  what a mission for a school to organise!

he was the best actor!  He had such a clear voice and such
great expression!

NICOLE AND JOELS WEDDING

On Friday our Niece Nicole Horsford was sealed for time and all eternity in the Hamilton New Zealand Temple.  It was a lovely ceremony in the Temple it was simple, sacred and very spiritual.  It felt so right!  There were  lots of tears of joy in the sealing room and it was so lovely to see a young ambitious but most importantly Faithful  couple starting their life together hand in hand with the lord!

Nicole is a little bit special to me and I will list a few reasons why below.

Before Keith and I were married she called me 'Aunty' and even asked me to speak at her baptism,  on the program it said ‘Aunty Becky’.  I remember giving that talk at her baptism on the Holy Ghost and remember giving her a Journal to write her special feelings of that day into.

My first Baby (Arama)  was born on her birthday and I remember her placing bids that he would be born on that day.  I hoped he wouldn’t be as I didn’t want to wait that long.  I remember her and her sisters pouring into my hospital room just after I had given birth to say their CONGRATULATIONS.

When Terina was born we lived Rural in Taumarunui,  my mum had had to rush back to Auckland on the day Terina was born as her sister (Aunty Lesley)  was dying.  We wanted someone to be there for us as we had no family down there. We called Nicole and she jumped on the next train and rushed on down.  She missed Terina’s entry into the world by about 5 hours but she spent the first week of Terina’s life with us helping and making life a lot easier for us.  She and her sisters have always been so good with our kids and they love them all dearly, so Arama was stoked to have her there with us.

She is the best baby sitter eva!  Our kids are so gutted to have to say goodbye to here.
She leaves to live in Perth next Saturday.

She has supported us through many hard times and good times too.  Her and Arama have spent many birthday occasions together.  I must scan some of Aramas first birthday party photos so you can see her there beside him.  They made him a train cake on his first birhday and she had a lovely
 flower cake beside his.

She was also one of my special ‘flower girls’ on our wedding day and that only seems like yesterday but on Friday she changed from a girl into a lady and was a special and beautiful bride herself.  We love you so so much Nicole and  will miss you dearly but we know you have a very special man Joel now to share your exciting life  ahead with.  The thought of not being able to just stop in at your house to see your smiling face whenever I want to makes me so sad but to know Joel is such a great guy who will look after you dearly throughout your life is much more important for your future progression.
LOVE YOU COLEY XX

What a beautiful Bride!

BRIDESMAIDS OF THE YEAR!

Nicole my niece is getting married to Joel a lovely boy from Perth!  She is trying to keep her wedding simple.  She doesn’t want any bridesmaids or a head table etc at the reception, she just wants it nice and simple.  Nanny Hall is a little disgusted that she is not having bridesmaids etc as she is the all time ‘Wedding Queen’ and loves to critique weddings and tell people what they should wear and what colours, decorations, flowers etc, they should or should not have at the wedding etc.
It is so funny she is just so OTT!

So Nix and I have been hassling Nicole about not having bridesmaids for quite some time and telling her that we are going to ‘gate crash’ the wedding and be her bridesmaids,  we also told her to look out as we would be singing etc.

Monday was the night of her ‘Bridal shower’.  Nix and I wrote a song for her and got our matching bridesmaids costumes on and rocked up to the Bridal Shower.  We performed our song and basically just entertained everyone for about half an hour.  It was so funny!  We are really crazy chicks!  I mean what other mother of lots of kids in this world would do such a crazy thing!

So here are some photos we took of us while we were getting ready here at home first.  Someone took a movie so I will try and get it on here sooner or later.

Yesterday was the actual wedding day (entry on its way),  we were so tempted to rock up and do our little floor show again but we thought we had better be good and not steal the
'lime light'!

Here are the words also to the song we wrote below.  A night not to forget!

Todays the day,
To celebrate
Well be bridesmaids
it's not too late!

We're her best friends
You thought you were
But sorry no
Not to her

We will make your day like a dream!
Hold your flowers paint your nails green
Even stop in Pokino for ice cream
And definitely never ever EVER be mean.

We've planned it all
with Nanny Hall
Well be up late
To decorate

Head tables there
We've booked our chair
Right next to Joel
Whose next to Cole!

We will make your day better than perfect
Nix and Bex are here to make it  worth it
The  satin cushions ready with the ring
And after that we would like to sing

Well be so sad
when you leave for Perth
But well be there
For the triplets birth

Just be calm
and stay alert
Despite the rumors
 it doesn't hurt

Marriage sometimes gets a little bit hard
But here's a tip just write each other a card
We love you Coley and well miss you dearly
Yes we will really really really!
