EASTER TIME FUN 2013

On Good Friday,  we planned an Easter egg treasure hunt.

Sarah and I sent Keith and Donovan out with the kids for a few hours so we could set things up.  After about half an hour we got this photos sent to us from them both.  They were down town with the kids at Wynyard at the fountain and the kids were having a great swim in the fountain.  (flippen heck,  so funny Sarah and I both commented that if they were with us they wouldn't have had half this much fun.)  They had no change of clothes and we certainly werent ready for them to come home yet.  They managed to get the big kids (Cona and Arama) to lend them sweatshirts etc.  We love our Husbands!!!

The kids arrived home so happy.
We took photos of where the clues would be and here are some of the places where the clues were kept on our property.

We decided to invite some of our special friends.  We had the Bickfords over and Agnes and Emil as well as Adrienne and her boys,  both amazing Mums who do it alone with out their husbands.  We also did a cool egg hunt inside with all little clues about The Jesus easter story which was fun.  The photos below however are of our Easter egg hunt which we only did outside.

WELCOME BACK MARMITE!

Two weeks ago Arama headed off on his School camp to Kawau Island, which he loved by the way.  The interesting thing is that Arama is the BIGGEST Marmite fan eva, apart from his  Uncle Aaron, my brother  and his POPPA who is bound to be eating it in Heaven.  He has felt very betrayed by Sanitarium over this past year or so as he has had to go without and endure Vegimite while he waited patiently for Marmite to come back on the supermarket shelves.  We always said that when Marmite comes back, we will have a welcome back Marmite feed!  Well when Arama was on a remote island during his school camp week,  Marmite came back and so we had to wait until he came home to celebrate.  When he arrived home from camp I had a hot loaf of  hot bread waiting for him in the Bread Maker and his very own jar of marmite and some real soft Butter of course (none of this fake marg or anything)  See the photos below of Arama with his first piece of Marmite bread in over a year.
YUM YUM!

VALENTINES DAY THIS YEAR.

We are a month on and I have finally got around to getting these photos off mum.   I have gotta enter what we did for Valentines day this year.  It was a bit of a hard day for us all as 'Valentines Day' is mum and dad's wedding anniversary.  So I wanted mum to not feel too alone on this day that has been special for her and dad for the past 42 years.  Nix and I composed this cool poem below the night before Feb the 14th.  Then we went over to her house late Valentines Eve and 'Heart attacked' her house everywhere.  We sprinkled little hearts all over her doorstep with some chocolates and this special poem hanging from the door. (the idea of the poem was that it was from Dad to Mum) We stuck hearts all over her front lawn and  gel ones all over her car etc etc (see photos below).  She said she cried when she read our poem.  Then we went out for dinner to Verbenas with Keith and I, Aunty Robyn, Mum, Aaron and Sharis and Terry and Sha,  (all of mums closest and dearest).  Kylee also made some beautiful cup cakes for mum which we had delivered to our table when we were at dinner.  All in all it was a sad day as we all miss dad so much but nice to have an excuse to all get together.  The poem below sums it all up from us to them.

Oh and you too Keithy Boy you are my Valentine,  I almost forgot as this day was kinda dedicated to mum and dad but I promise next year I will be all yours again.  ...  (I did give him chocolates too  LOL)

Mums Doorstep

Mums Car,  it read, "We love you Queen Patricia".
This is mum's nick name for those of you who don't know that.

Polystyrene hearts all over the lawn.

Gel hearts etc over her car window.

A toast to Mum and Dad after mum read out the letter.

Kylee's beautiful Valentine Cupcakes below

For family home evening a few days before,  Keith and I and the kids made some lollie packs up for all the people they wanted to give them too.  During our night out I gave these out to all of the people there.  The kids gave them to their teachers etc and other people of their choice.  (see the cupid Poop bags below with lots of love heart lollies inside etc)

Then on dads birthday a few weeks ago (24th Feb)  everyone went out for dinner,  I made this cake to remember my Daddy.  I still miss him so so much each day,  and feel like it will always be hard!

PROTECTION CLOTHES ON AND READY TO WORK!

My Goodness my girl is such a crack up!  We are about to get some landscaping done around our house etc and Niwa loves to help.  Last Saturday Niwa was out helping his Daddy as usual.  Niwa had his boots and earmuffs and safety glasses on as he does when he goes out to ‘WORK’ with daddy.  Terina was a little bored so I told her to go and work outside too.  She said “I can’t mummy I don’t have any Protection clothes”.  I was working in the kitchen and I had forgotten about the whole topic of conversation.  Then all of a sudden she stomped into the kitchen and said, “Mum look I got my protection clothes on now!”  I just couldn’t help myself and burst into laughter .  She had on my raincoat with the hood over her head ,  her ugg boots,  her swimming goggles and as the day went on she found one old knitted glove from when she was about two and spent a good while looking for its matching one but to no avail.   Below are some photos of her special Protective outfit!  LOL   LOL  LOL!

Her goggles cracked me up most of all as they were suctioned onto her face so tight that her eyes were all distorted and you could see this through  the plastic,  It was honestly SUCH A CRACK UP!

Camp Mother with her Protective clothes on!
I love how Terina is full of such Creative ideas,  look at her she is just so delicious!
I am sure the 'NZ Safety' shop Keith goes to on a regular basis for his work,  would be most impressed by the wonderful example she is setting to all the workers out there.  HA HA!
